Former Senator Trent Lott joins the Board of Directors at Starkville's Camgian Microsystems

Starkville, MS – October 3rd, 2011 – The Board of Directors of Camgian Microsystems Corporation today announced the appointment of former United States Senator Trent Lott as an independent director of the firm effective October 1. Lott‘s appointment expands Camgian‘s board to four directors.

”Senator Lott‘s significant experience and valuable perspective on business and government will be a tremendous asset for Camgian as we build our brand and expand our market presence,“ said Dr. Gary D. Butler, Camgian Chairman and CEO. ”We are honored to have him join our team.“

”I think Camgian is an outstanding young company with great potential,“ said Senator Lott. ”I'm very happy and excited to be a part of this dynamic organization.“

Lott, the former Majority Leader for the United States Senate, represented the people of Mississippi in Congress for 35 years and is one of a handful of officials to have held elected leadership positions in both the House of Representatives and Senate. For 16 years in the House and 19 years in the Senate, Lott was a driving force in the United States Congress working closely with seven presidential administrations and was regarded as a savvy coalition builder and dealmaker. In 2006, Senator Lott was elected Senate Republic Whip, giving him the distinction of being the only person to hold that position in both the House and Senate. After his retirement from the United States Senate, Senator Lott founded the Breaux Lott Leadership Group with former Senator John Breaux of Louisiana, a partnership offering strategic advice, consulting and lobbying to a wide range of clients. The firm unites two former Senate leaders from opposite parties, with a combined total of nearly 70 years experience in Congress.
